The 2nd Social Entrepreneurship Prize at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne: four finalists presented their projects to an audience of 150.

The finalists of the Alter Start Social Entrepreneurship Prize at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne

That was the spirit in which our four Alter Start finalists came to pitch at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne last night, in front of 150 people. And what pitches they were!

The evening was opened by Vincent Baudriller, director of the Théâtre de Vidy, who recalled the strong ties between Alter Start and the theatre since the programme was launched, and by Amina Benbrahim Benkais, integration delegate and director of the BCI (Cantonal Office for Integration). Both shared their vision of inclusion and social entrepreneurship. Amina Benbrahim Benkais stressed that “the Social Entrepreneurship Prize shines a light on human journeys: women entrepreneurs with a migrant background who chose to turn an idea into a project, a skill into a business, a dream into a concrete future”.

Dominique Bobst presented the jury prize to the most impactful project, noting that “generosity, perseverance, boldness, consistency, trust and ethics are the values that anchor the commitment and the development of young entrepreneurs' projects. It is these shared values that allow Alter Start to support you in becoming significant businesses in the local economy”.

A musical interlude by Galan Music punctuated the evening before the results were announced.
